About Me

Born in Lima, Peru, Rodrigo is a first generation bilingual designer who graduated in 2019 from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Film & Video. From there he embarked on his journey to New York City where he landed his first job at Anomaly. Rodrigo is a multi-disciplinary designer and art director who loves working with bold ideas and compelling stories. His experience runs the gamut from brand identity and motion graphics to developing integrated 360 campaigns and interactive digital social content development.

Rodrigo works at Anomaly with clients like Ally Bank, Don Julio, Apple, NBCU, Crown Royal Regal Apple, Buchanan’s Whiskey, Booking.com, Dosist, Johnnie Walker, Budweiser, Dicks Sporting Goods, YouTube Music, Coca-Cola and New York Life.

Rodrigo lives in the Upper East Side where we spends his time trying out new restaurants, growing his Whiskey and Mezcal collection, and checking out new exhibitions and installations whenever possible.

Designed and art directed integrated 360 campaigns and interactive digital social content for Buchanan’s Whiskey, Don Julio, and Ally Bank. Additionally, worked with non-profit organizations to develop national campaigns around pro non-gun ownership for youth and teens.

Developed art direction, illustrations, and animations for 360 campaign for brands like Coca-Cola, Apple, YouTube, Petco, Converse, NBC, Kit Kat, Weight Watchers, Panera, Dicks Sporting Goods, New York Life, Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal Apple, Don Julio, Buchanan’s and more.

Mindful Restaurants | Visual Communication Designer

Managed 7 different bars/restaurant’s marketing and social media components. I designed and updated website content, designed weekly e-blast to subscribers, posted social media updates according to events and needs. Photographed and recorded video content for all promotional purposes.

Brightest Young Things | Graphic Design Intern

Summer 2018 | Washington D.C.

Digital magazine & event production /marketing/communications creative agency. Worked on their annual pride opening party campaign, directed the video production for a Trader Joe's sponsored Rosé tasting campaign & developed the social media marketing campaign for the Smithsonian American Arts Museum events.

Pentagram Studio | Graphic Designer

2018 | Baltimore, MD

Developed conceptual design solutions in studio with Aaron Fay where we focused on developing a campaign around the DACA movement. We worked on a strong yet flexible brand/identity system, with a bold logo and editorial design multiples for the DACA Movement.
